💎 A striking wave of Canadian art glass history — this 1960s aqua blue freeform bowl captures the sculptural elegance that defined Chalet’s hand-blown creations. Its sweeping ruffled edges and thick crystal base catch the light beautifully, making it a refined statement piece for coffee tables, vanities, or display shelves. Each curve reflects the artistry of mid-century glassmakers who turned molten glass into fluid motion.
In overall good vintage/used condition. Please see all of the photos.
This piece bears no acid-etched signature on the base, though its form, weight, and colouration are strongly consistent with unsigned Chalet production from the 1960s. Many authentic Chalet pieces from the 1960s were sold unmarked — particularly smaller bowls and ashtrays — or had only a foil sticker that’s long since disappeared. 💎
⌛History Behind The Piece⌛
Founded in Cornwall, Ontario in the early 1960s, Chalet Artistic Glass became renowned for its dramatic pulled-glass forms in vivid colours such as amber, ruby, and turquoise. Each piece was mouth-blown by European glass artisans — many trained in Murano — bringing Venetian skill to Canadian design. Though this example is unsigned, its distinctive contours, colour, and construction closely mirror documented Chalet works from the mid-1960s.
