Vintage Collectible Czechoslovakia Crystal Glass Cobalt Blue & White Ring Vase - By Jan Exnar. Vase is encased in a thick crystal, as evident by the weight of it below. Vase is in good vintage/used condition. Light scratches can be seen on the bottom of the base, from surface dragging on the tabletop. 'EXNAR' is inscribed on the bottom. Please see all of the photos.
A bit about the artist, Jan Exnar:
Born July 27, 1951 in Havlíčková Brod, Jan Exnar is a distinguished Czech artist specializing in glass art and painting. He studied at the Secondary Vocational Glass School in Železné Brod under Professor Pavel Ježek (1966–1970) and at the University of Applied Arts in Prague under Professor Stanislav Libenský (1970–1976).
Exnar, seamlessly integrates painting, drawing, and glasswork in his creations. Exnar's work is characterized by its simplicity, harmonious forms, and subtle tension, spanning monumental glass sculptures and vibrant stained glass windows that incorporate painting with the medium's inherent colour dynamics. His art, which has been featured at the SMoCA (Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art), reflects personal visions and experiences, showcasing his mastery across multiple artistic disciplines.
The vase is part of the Váza collection, which was completed in 2002.
