History Behind The Piece⌛ Born as Les Industries de Verre et Miroirs in 1958 (renamed Murano Glass in 1960), the studio relocated from Montreal to Cornwall, Ontario in 1962 after a devastating fire, thanks to federal incentives. Rebranded as Chalet Artistic Glass, the company—helmed by Venetian immigrants Angelo and Luigi Tedesco and Sergio Pagnin—pioneered Canada’s free‑form glass movement, blending Murano-inspired techniques with modern design until its closure in 1975.
