âHistory Behind The Pieceâ Ayers woollen goods were distributed in mid-20th-century Canada and the U.K., popular for producing clan tartan throws and blankets in the postwar era. The MacLeod âLoud MacLeodâ (MacLeod of Lewis / Dress MacLeod) tartan has been documented since the Victorian revival of Scottish tartans (notably via the 1842 Vestiarium Scoticum) and is today registered with both the Scottish Tartans Authority and the Scottish Register of Tartans.
